Job summary

Power Design, a National Design Build Contractor, seeks an Associate Fire Alarm Designer in St. Petersburg, FL. Review layouts, interpret requirements, and ensure code compliance for fire alarm systems at our headquarters.

You will coordinate designs, provide technical assistance through bidding and construction, and guide team members while communicating with customers and inspectors. NICET certification and IBC/IECC knowledge are valuable.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience with fire alarm system design.
• Experience with fire alarm equipment and installation; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• NICET certification and understanding of high-density, high-rise fire alarm design.
• Knowledge of local codes (IBC/IECC) and construction safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the best design solution while considering customer needs and budgeting.
• Provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.
• Provide design direction, support, and guidance to all team members.
• Communicate effectively with customers, project teams, and inspecting authorities.
