FIPS 140 Security Engineer

What You Will Get To Do
- Work on varied FIPS 140 validation projects.
- Conduct general security analysis.
- Design work related to product architecture.
- Perform vulnerability testing.
- Conduct physical security testing.
- Perform system-level logical analysis.
- Evaluate products against Technology Type standards (Protection Profiles).
- Test cryptographic and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) components.
- Test cryptographic algorithms.
- Review source code activities.
- Write and review technical reports.
- Automate testing through scripting.
- Develop applications to support test cases.
You Will Bring These Qualifications
- Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP) Certification.
- Knowledge of cryptographic encryption algorithms, key exchange algorithms, hashing/message authentication algorithms, PKI, random number generators, etc.
- Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java and development environments.
- Ability to understand security standard requirements and apply them to products.
- Experience setting up networks, familiarity with subnetting and routing.
- Knowledge of security protocols like SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.
- Experience in building testing environments, performing testing, and reporting results (including technical writing).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Python programming.
- Debugging experience with tools like adb, WinDBG, Visual Studio.
- Statistical analysis of entropy sources.
- Knowledge of OpenSSL and/or OpenPGP.
- Vulnerability analysis or penetration testing experience.
- Strong knowledge of computer security principles.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Related certifications (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA).
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Linux.
- Experience with hardware tools like oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.
- Knowledge of X.509 certificate validation.
Education & Experience
- Typically requires a BS degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
Position Details
- Pay Range: $57.99 - $62.99 per hour.
The salary range is an estimate; final offers depend on responsibilities, experience, education, skills, location, travel, and market conditions.
