Our client, ABBTECH Professional Resources, is seeking a FIPS 140 Security Engineer in Columbia, MD, to work in the growing IT Security field supporting National defense. Key Responsibilities:
- Work on various FIPS 140 validation projects
- Conduct security analysis, design product architecture, perform vulnerability and physical security testing
- System-level logical analysis, evaluate products against standards, and conduct cryptographic testing
- Review source code, write technical reports, automate testing with scripting, and develop applications for test cases
Qualifications:
- Cryptographic Validation Program (CVP) Certification
- Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, PKI, random number generators, etc.
- Experience with programming languages (C, C++, Python, Java)
- Understanding of security standards, network setup, security protocols (SSH, IPsec, TLS)
- Testing environment setup, troubleshooting, technical writing, multitasking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python, debugging tools, entropy analysis, OpenSSL/OpenPGP, vulnerability analysis, security principles
- Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE), knowledge of Active Directory, Linux
- Hands-on experience with electronic testing tools, X.509 certificates
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years relevant experience
