Job summary

Imprint is expanding its Data Infrastructure Team to design reliable, scalable data platforms that power our products and decision-making. You will own core components of our data ecosystem, including ingestion, quality validation, and data governance to support a growing fintech business across internal and partner data sharing needs.

This role emphasizes building scalable systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering impact in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience building data platforms, distributed systems, infrastructure, or backend systems at scale.
• Fintech experience, particularly in data infrastructure and identity graphs, partner data sharing, and data unification.
• Ability to convert ambiguous problems into clear, shipped solutions without a playbook.
• Experience designing/operating production data systems for ingestion, processing, quality validation, and scalable output.
• Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure and modern data stack tech.
• Strong backend fundamentals in Python, Java, Scala, Go, or Kotlin.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to improve coding and productivity.
• Experience collaborating with engineering, product, finance, marketing, and risk teams.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to trade off latency, reliability, cost, and developer experience.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable data infrastructure for high-volume ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Architect a partner data sharing platform with secure, governed data exchange.
• Build core components of Imprint's identity graph to unify signals across entities.
• Improve data quality, observability, reliability, and governance across pipelines.
• Translate stakeholder needs into phased infrastructure roadmaps.
• Develop abstractions and tooling to enable safe data discovery and sharing at scale.
• Design infrastructure for batch and real-time use cases with balanced latency and cost.
• Solve problems around data freshness, schema evolution, access control, and data contracts.
• Improve reliability through automation, monitoring, and incident response.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate work and boost delivery velocity.
• Advocate for strong engineering practices and reproducible pipelines.
