Job summary

Intuit Inc. is seeking a Fintech Principal Data Engineer to bridge data needs between Fintech product teams and data consumers across compliance, finance, analytics, risk, and marketing.

The role sits on the central Fintech Data team and focuses on delivering today’s data estate while building a certified, canonically modeled domain data published to a unified store and made AI-ready through a financial-domain ontology.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering or data architecture with hands-on ownership of large-scale production data systems.
• Deep data modeling skill: canonical/domain modeling, schema design for transactional/analytical use.
• Strong distributed-systems foundations: event streaming (Kafka), CDC, microservice data patterns, modern stores (HTAP/online-OLAP).
• Experience operating in regulated environments — SOX or equivalent controls, data lineage, auditability.
• Ability to influence without authority across product, analytics, risk, and compliance stakeholders.
• Clear communication with both engineers and executives.
• Nice to have fintech/payments domain experience; knowledge graphs or ontologies; AI/agentic data consumption.
• Proficiency in Python/Java and familiarity with data tooling

Responsibilities

• Understand how data is produced by product microservices and suggest data contract changes.
• Create canonical data models for Fintech domain data and publish a single source of truth.
• Contribute to Fintech data ontology so AI agents reason on business meaning.
• Own semantic views for data consumers across finance, compliance, marketing, and risk.
• Build self-serve tools and standards to publish quality data without bottlenecks.
• Design durable cross-domain data products consumed by multiple teams.
• Evaluate modern data-serving tech (HTAP/online-OLAP) with strong data lineage by design.
• Partner with data stewards to drive standards adoption and governance.
• Balance tactical delivery with strategic platform build-out and prioritize accordingly.
• Understand Intuit products (QBO and TT) and how Fintech offerings connect to them.
