Job summary

Collectors Universe Inc. is seeking a Corporate Counsel to lead our Financial Services legal work, including lending programs, regulatory positioning, and partnerships. You will partner with the Financial Services team and outside counsel to design compliant program structures and governance.

Based in Santa Ana, CA, with remote or hybrid options, this role reports to the General Counsel and supports growth across our payments ecosystems while ensuring AML/BSA, OFAC, and KYC obligations are met.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from a top law school and active California Bar membership.
• 6+ years of legal experience in fintech or consumer lending.
• Substantive experience with consumer lending regulation (TILA/Reg Z, FCRA, ECOA, GLBA).
• Experience advising on bank partnerships and money movement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Take primary legal responsibility for Collectors' lending program and related governance.
• Draft and review commercial and consumer loan agreements and disclosures.
• Partner with outside counsel and internal teams on regulatory positioning.
• Advise on AML/BSA, OFAC, and KYC obligations for lending counterparties.
