Job summary

Plaid Inc. is seeking a highly capable Corporate Counsel to join its Business Legal team. The role covers corporate governance, board support, transactions, entity management, and compliance, with collaboration across Finance, HR, and Compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong judgment, 4+ years of experience, a JD, and US bar admission, and will thrive in a fast-paced fintech environment while supporting senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house counsel.
• JD degree required.
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and excellent legal and business judgment.
• Experience working with senior management and ability to work with various teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with a daily high volume of tasks and projects, and can quickly shift priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support the company’s governance framework and Board activities, including preparing board materials and maintaining records.
• Provide legal support for strategic corporate transactions and financing events with due diligence and document drafting.
• Manage subsidiaries and affiliated entities, including formation and dissolution domestically and internationally.
• Monitor evolving corporate and securities laws, advise on regulatory changes, and develop internal policies.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, Stock Administration, and Compliance on cross-functional initiatives.
• Take on special projects and ad hoc legal tasks as needed for a growing tech company.
