Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced FinOps Lead to govern cloud financial operations for VA OIT. This fully remote role requires cross‑functional collaboration with finance, engineering, operations, and business leaders to mature a hybrid cost governance program across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT, or a related field.
• 12+ years of cloud financial management/FinOps experience in complex IT environments.
• Experience with hybrid cloud and on‑prem cost governance, budgeting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature a FinOps framework across cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Establish cost governance, showback/chargeback, and cost transparency across environments.
• Produce executive dashboards, variance analyses, and scenario modeling.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives including rightsizing and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with VA OIT and business stakeholders to translate technical decisions into financial impact.
