Job summary

Bank of America seeks a FinOps Engineer to manage cloud cost reporting, optimization, and governance across multiple cloud platforms. You will deliver accurate cost analytics, automate reporting, and support onboarding of Cloudability while collaborating with engineering and technology teams.

• Working knowledge of Python for data extraction and report automation.
• Hands-on FinOps expertise across cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Development and Infrastructure teams to implement monitoring capabilities.
• Develops and maintains reliability scripts, tools and libraries for instrumentation and automation.
• Partners to implement code changes and help teams use reliability libraries.
• Participates in architecture community of practice meetings and related communications.
• Identifies vulnerabilities and opportunities for reliability improvement.
• Engages in major incident triage and failure scenario analysis with Problem Management.
• Provides ad hoc financial analysis and executive reporting on cloud spend and optimization.
• Designs a unified backend data platform and front-end service layer for cloud cost insights.
• Develops and maintains cloud financial reporting, dashboards, and automated processes.
• Supports FinOps activities including budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, and variance analysis.
• Administers Cloudability and other FinOps tools ensuring data accuracy.
• Creates automated reporting and analytics solutions using Python, SQL, and related tools.
• Partners with Agile, engineering, and business teams to promote FinOps best practices.
