Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Blade Finisher to perform finishing tasks on turbine blades in a US-based facility. You will grind, gelcoat, mask, tape, paint and sand to specification, ensuring a clean, high-quality finish and compliance with safety standards.

Candidates should be able to lift 40 lbs, operate tools and heavy equipment, and work Night shifts Mon-Fri 10pm-6:30am. Relocation not provided. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and lift/carry items as needed.
• Capable of pushing/pulling heavy objects safely.
• Must stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Must work with hands for extended periods using hand tools.
• Must operate basic hand tools, power tools and heavy machinery.
• Respirator use required per safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Grind blade to work instruction specifications.
• Grind between quality marks and apply gelcoat to designated locations.
• Matt ing to give blades a clean finish.
• Paint and sand surfaces as needed.
• Apply tape to blade edges to prevent gel coat overspray.
• Apply auto mask to blade shell.
• Fill voids with mud, scrape excess to ensure full fill.
• Turn the blade using the specified machine.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and wear PPE.
• Maintain 5s standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Grinding blade to work instruction specifications.
• Grind between quality marks and apply gelcoat to designated locations.
• Matting to give blades a clean finish.
• Painting and Sanding
• Apply tape to edge of blade to avoid overspray of gel coat.
• Apply auto mask to the shell of the blade.
• Apply filler/mud to the lead edge of the blade, then scrape of excess so all voids are filled.
• Turn the blade utilizing machine.
• Wear designated personal protective equipment and follow all health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain 5s standards.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to lift of carry objects or materials up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull heavy objects.
• Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors.
• Ability to work with hands for an extended period.
• Ability to operate basic hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
• Requires usage of respirator.

Desired Characteristics

• High School Diploma/GED or related experience.

• Previous Manufacturing experience.

Position Shift: Mon-Fri 10pm-6:30am

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is $22.88-$27.50.
