Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Finishing Technician to support finishing and shipping operations in Dyer, Indiana. You will prepare parts for painting, clean and inspect parts, and ensure shipping readiness using the Plex system for part accuracy.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, ability to stand for long periods, and be able to lift up to 35 lbs. Training on 1st shift for up to two months will occur before moving to 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive operations.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team and undergo cross-training.
• Effective communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Plex system to determine product and procedure accuracy.
• Dip/power pieces to ensure part is free from dirt and chips.
• Dip parts into rust remover.
• Oil parts prior to packaging.
• Final inspection of parts.
• Band work pieces and prepare for shipping.
