Job summary

The role focuses on acquiring hands-on skills under experienced operators to ensure quality and safety while aligning with production targets. You will progress through setup, running speeds, and quality checks, with an emphasis on documentation, housekeeping, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Basic personal computer skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• Read and interpret safety rules, job tickets and procedures.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Maintain good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Review job tickets for specifications, make ready time, run speed, labels and any special instructions.
• Set up jobs according to job ticket instruction and approved structures.
• Run equipment at specified speeds while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure resources are available for current and next jobs.
• Verify feeder and packer have proper materials and understand job requirements.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance.
• Document production and quality inspections per SOP.
• Assist make-ready operation of folder gluer to learn independence and accuracy.
• Fill out logs with correct load designation and linear footage details.
• Communicate job status and issues to on-coming shift.
• Follow safety rules and keep area organized and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
