Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Finishing Operator II for our Hickory, NC facility. You will report to the Supervisor and ensure safety, maintain equipment, and meet quality standards while working with a team to complete daily tasks.

The 3rd shift runs 6:30 PM to 4:30 AM, Monday through Thursday, with pay of $23.96 per hour plus a $0.40 shift differential. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth within a global leader in packaging solutions.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience and/or training, specifically machine operator experience.
  • Able to read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring.
  • Arrive on time with strong attendance; willingness to work 3rd shift.
  • Position intended for someone seeking advancement with a HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all safety requirements for operating equipment in the assigned area.
  • Keep equipment and work area in order and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Meet quality standards for the department and team.
  • Work well with others to complete daily tasks.
  • Wear protective gear as required and participate in safety training.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings and adhere to Sonoco policies.
