Job description

Position Overview

Finishing Operator fills batteries with acid to the proper level, and correctly applies caps on the batteries according to battery type. Formation Operator will perform visual inspections for proper acid levels and cosmetic defects.

Areas of Focus

The Finishing Operator will be committed to performing the role safely and can wear all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including a respirator.

Responsibilities

Level I

1. On/Off batteries from the production line.
2. Understand and practice the Quality policy.
3. Use hand tools and learn specific machine controls, gauges, etc.
4. Work in a lead acid battery manufacturing plant.
5. Capable of working in extreme temperatures; heavy environment is a plus.
6. Demonstrate strong team skills.
7. Solve problems and recommend solutions.
8. Follow strict hygiene rules, including mandatory showering and lunch periods on site.
9. Lift 50-80 lbs. and stand for long periods.
10. Remove caps and perform visual checks to ensure batteries are facing correctly during conveyor transmission.
11. Correctly apply vent caps, ensuring a tight seal, and apply labels to batteries.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher.
• 2-3 years of manufacturing/plant experience with a strong and consistent work history.
• Basic English proficiency to interpret work and safety instructions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Must be clean shaven.
