Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Finishing Mill Shift Mechanical Technician in Mississippi. The role covers maintenance of rolling process machinery, welding and fabrication, and troubleshooting hydraulics and pneumatics to keep production running.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Overtime may be required, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of Mechanical Maintenance experience.
• Safety oriented and able to work overtime as needed.
• Experience in welding & fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, pipe fittings, rigging, bearing & coupling replacement.
• Ability to read prints & schematics; mathematics understanding.

Responsibilities

• Rotating shift work including nights and weekends.
• Welding, cutting and fabrication.
• Maintain all mechanical systems related to the rolling process.
• Troubleshoot and repair of high-pressure hydraulic systems.
• Rigging, crane and mobile equipment operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints and piping diagrams.
• Work with operations and maintenance groups to ensure continued production.
• Work with computer-based maintenance systems.
