Job summary

PPG Industries is seeking an Finished Good Planner to oversee finished goods supply planning at our Gainesville facility, coordinating with Production Scheduling, Operations and Customer Service to balance demand and inventory. You will translate forecasts into executable production requirements while optimizing working capital.

The role requires strong analytics, Excel proficiency and experience with ASCP/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or Business.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain planning or related operations.
• Experience with MRP/ERP or advanced planning systems (Oracle ASCP, Oracle EBS, SAP) preferred.
• Strong understanding of supply and demand planning and inventory management.
• Advanced Excel skills to analyze large datasets and translate into decision making.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification, IBP/S&OP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own finished goods supply planning for assigned products using Oracle ASCP, reviewing demand, planned orders, projected inventory, recommendations, and exceptions.
• Translate customer demand, forecasts, inventory requirements, and planning parameters into actionable production and supply requirements.
• Balance customer service, finished goods inventory, manufacturing capacity, lead times, and operational constraints while proactively identifying shortages and supply risks.
• Partner with Production Scheduling and Operations to convert supply requirements into executable production plans and align priorities with manufacturing capabilities.
• Manage finished goods inventory and planning parameters, including safety stock, lead times, order quantities, sourcing rules, and other settings to optimize service and working capital.
• Recommend production, inventory, and transfer actions to resolve supply-demand imbalances and support inventory optimization across manufacturing locations and warehouses.
• Serve as a key Supply Chain contact for Customer Service, providing timely communication on product availability, constraints, customer priorities, and recovery plans.
• Analyze planning and inventory performance, perform root cause analysis, and support IBP, continuous improvement, and planning standardization initiatives.
