Job summary

Mt. Olive Pickle Company Inc. is seeking a full-time Machine Operator trainee to set up and operate one piece of equipment and begin training toward Machine Operator/Mechanic status. The role emphasizes attention to food safety, quality checks, and proper documentation in a fast-paced processing environment.

You will monitor line performance, adjust speeds as needed, and assist in training seasonal laborers while supporting multiple lines and adhering to safety rules and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Additional trades training a strong plus.
• Ability to read, write and speak English well.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Basic computer skills required.
• CRC certification (Bronze level or higher) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates equipment. Always checks for latest revision of packing schedule before setting up line.
• Monitors to assure product adheres to food safety and quality limits.
• Performs quality checks of labels and coding on assigned line.
• Keeps records of downtime and product checks.
• Adjusts line speeds as needed.
• Performs daily and weekly pre-operational checks on equipment.
• Cleans and maintains assigned work area.
• Works on various lines as needed.
• Follows safety rules and company policies.
