Job description

Finish Technician/Painter - Construction Department

Description

  • Prepare surfaces for painting using sandpaper, wire brushes, steel wool, cleaning solvents and/or bonding agents.
  • Take appropriate measures to prepare and/or protect assigned area prior to painting.
  • Select premixed paints or mix paint to desired color tones.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stain and sealer using paintbrushes, rollers, trimmers and spray guns.
  • Clean area and equipment upon completion of painting.
  • Hang and repair wall coverings according to instructions.
  • Maintain required records and logs.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment in a secure, safe, clean and orderly manner.
Experience / Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as a painter or equivalent.
  • Considerable knowledge of the use and application of painting equipment, tools and materials.
  • Working skill in the use of tools and equipment such as levels and spray guns.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
