Job summary

VALDESE WEAVERS LLC is hiring a Finish Prep Material Handler to assemble and prepare fabric rolls for the finishing process in Valdese, NC. You will pull cloth per tickets, arrange orders, and ensure straight seams while preventing twisting, following ISO 9001 work instructions.

You'll operate and maintain equipment safely, keep the area clean, and report any malfunctions. Overtime may be required; forklift licensing is required for moving fabrics.

Qualifications

JOB TITLE: Finish Prep Material HandlerDEPARTMENT: Finish OHREPORTS TO: Department SupervisorFLSA: Hourly - Non ExemptEST./REVISED: 02/13/2023Pay Rate: $16.40Shift Premium & Attendance Bonus: $18.02Job Summary: Sew rolls of fabric requiring the same finishing process together.Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:Determine cloth to be plated and pull order according to tickets.Arrange tickets to match the order in which fabric is sewn togetherPull cloth tightly between pins and sew together in straight seams, preventing bow and bias.Make sure fabric goes through the frame and folds into buggy or rolls unto T frame without getting twisted. If fabric becomes twisted or something happens to the rollers at the top of the plater, use the ladder provided to reach and correct the problem.Move fabric to the next process.Work scheduled overtime.Perform other duties as assigned.Keep the work area and equipment clean and free from safety hazards. Maintain proper housekeeping.Operate equipment properly. Report malfunctions or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.Safety:Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.Safety belt/harness when using PIT.Maintain 5 S standards.Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
