Job summary

Hughes Brothers Construction is hiring a Finish Loader Operator - Grade Crew to support large site infrastructure and roadway projects across Central Florida. You will operate the Loader and other heavy equipment, perform daily maintenance, and follow safety procedures.

The role requires at least 2 years in a similar position, ability to stand, bend, lift up to 40 pounds, and work outdoors in varying conditions. English and Spanish fluency is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to stand, bend, squat and lift up to 40 pounds.
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar loader/grade crew position.
• Knowledge of road construction materials, processes and industry requirements.
• Familiarity with loader controls and heavy equipment electronics.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Out-of-town travel and/or overtime is a possibility.
• English and Spanish fluency a plus but is not required.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.

Finish Loader Operator - Grade Crew Hughes Brothers Construction is now hiring!

We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in large site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway construction throughout Central Florida.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment as well as routine cleaning to ensure smooth operation of the Loader.
• Operate the Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material, move lever to raise and tilt bucket when filled, or to dump material.
• Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
• Operate Loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings.
• Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
• Perform job tasks in an outdoor setting which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity and exposure to dust and asphalt.
