Job summary

Hughes Brothers Construction is seeking a Finish Loader Operator- Grade Crew to support heavy civil site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway projects across Central Florida.

You will operate loaders and related heavy equipment, perform routine maintenance, and follow safety guidelines in outdoor environments with potential overtime or travel.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to stand, bend, squat and lift to 40 pounds.
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of road construction materials, processes and industry requirements.
• Knowledge of Loader and other heavy equipment and understanding of electronics.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Out-of-town travel and/or overtime is a possibility.
• English and Spanish fluency is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.

• Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment and routine cleaning.
• Operate Loader controls to manage bucket movement and loading operations.
• Ensure understanding of ground disturbance issues.
• Operate Loader on public or private roadways with awareness of surroundings.
• Follow supervisor directions for work areas.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat and dust.

Hughes Brothers Construction is now hiring! We are a heavy civil contractor specializing in large site infrastructure, underground utilities and roadway construction throughout Central Florida. Responsibilities

• Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment as well as routine cleaning to ensure smooth operation of the Loader.
• Operate the Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material, move lever to raise and tilt bucket when filled, or to dump material.
• Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
• Operate Loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings.
• Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
• Perform job tasks in an outdoor setting which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity and exposure to dust and asphalt.
