Job summary

Big Tex Trailers in Wills Point, TX is seeking a Finish Lead to oversee all Finish operations (paint, sand blast, wash bay, prep, caulking, axle installation, decals, wiring) and ensure safety, quality, and production standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead the Finish team, coordinate manpower, monitor production flow and trailer quality, train staff on standard work and safety, and work with the Paint Tech and management to keep daily priorities on track and maintain Big Tex

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or production experience.
• Previous Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Job Overview

At Big Tex Trailers, the Finish Lead is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of trailers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position provides hands-on leadership across Finish operations, including paint, sand blast, wash bay, prep, caulking, axle installation, decals, and wiring. The Finish Lead works closely with the Paint Tech, other Leads, and Plant management to coordinate manpower, maintain production flow, and ensure trailers meet established safety, quality, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support Finish team members in meeting daily safety, quality, and production expectations.


• Coordinate manpower and work assignments across Finish operations, adjusting coverage for absences and changing production demands.


• Monitor production flow, workmanship, and trailer quality, addressing issues and ensuring adherence to Big Tex standards.


• Work closely with the Paint Tech, other Leads, and plant management to coordinate daily priorities, communicate concerns, and maintain efficient Finish operations.


• Train and coach team members on standard work, safety requirements, quality expectations, equipment use, and Finish processes.


• Identify and resolve production, quality, or workflow issues to maintain productivity and efficiency.


• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with Big Tex standards.


• Lift, push, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Required

• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or production experience, preferably in trailer manufacturing, Finish, paint, or assembly.


• Previous Lead or supervisory experience preferred.


• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, hand and power tools, and production equipment.


• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.


• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.


• Ability to coordinate employees and prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


• Ability to work across multiple Finish operations and perform the physical requirements of the position.
