Job summary

Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing is seeking a Weld Supervisor to lead a team of welders in Wills Point, TX. You will coach welders, ensure quality, and maintain a safe, productive environment while meeting daily production goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead daily welding operations to meet production schedules.
  • Train, coach, and develop welders on safety, quality, and welding techniques.
  • Monitor employee performance and accountability for attendance, productivity, and quality.
  • Ensure welds meet engineering specifications and company quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Assist with welding and fabrication as needed to support production.
  • Identify and resolve production, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Provide tools, materials, and resources needed to perform work.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to improve efficiency.

Position Summary

The Weld Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of welders to safely produce high-quality trailers while meeting daily production goals. This position provides hands‑on leadership by coaching employees, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead daily welding operations to meet production schedules.
  • Train, coach, and develop welders on safety, quality, and welding techniques.
  • Monitor employee performance and hold team members accountable for attendance, productivity, and quality.
  • Ensure all welds meet engineering specifications and company quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Assist with welding and fabrication as needed to support production.
  • Identify and resolve production, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Ensure employees have the tools, materials, and resources needed to perform their work.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve efficiency and achieve production goals.

Required Qualifications
