Job summary

Robbins Lumber, Inc. is seeking a dependable Finger Joint Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Maine. You will operate and monitor finger-jointing equipment to produce high-quality, consistent lumber products.

Ideal candidates have experience with manufacturing or sawmill machinery, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety. Starting pay is $20 per hour, with competitive wages, benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating manufacturing or sawmill equipment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and understand machinery operation.
• Ability to recognize equipment problems and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a quality product.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor finger-jointing machinery and related equipment.
• Set up and make adjustments to equipment to maintain proper production and product quality.
• Inspect lumber and finished products for defects, proper dimensions, and quality.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
• Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Identify equipment problems and communicate mechanical or operational issues to maintenance or supervision.
• Perform routine equipment checks and assist with basic maintenance as trained.
• Maintain consistent production while meeting quality standards.
• Safely handle lumber, materials, and equipment throughout the production process.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Complete production paperwork and records as required.
• Work cooperatively with other employees and departments to keep production running efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
