Job summary

Cascade Living Group is seeking a Sous Chef for Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bend, OR to deliver fine dining for residents. You will supervise culinary staff, assist with menus, and ensure sanitation and regulatory compliance, while coordinating schedules with the Dining Services Director.

Responsibilities include training staff, managing inventory, and supporting special events. A culinary degree and health certifications are preferred; weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience/ knowledge of special diets and meal preparation for large groups.
• Ability to lead and supervise staff (management experience preferred).
• Problem solving and ability to handle emergent situations.
• Preferred Culinary Arts Degree and related experience.
• Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.
• Effectively implement and carry out change.
• Ability to recruit, hire, train and manage food service personnel.
• Skilled in interpersonal communications with staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Function as Supervisor over cooks and other food service staff.
• Maintenance of sanitation standards in accordance with regulations.
• Assists the Dining Services Director in purchasing and inventory.
• Plan menus for daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner and for special events.
• Answer resident inquiries related to the dining operation.
• Coordinate workflow and schedules to meet deadlines and follow policies.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with intradepartmental personnel.
