Job summary

The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa seeks a Fine Dining Runner to support Coastal Kitchen operations. The role assists servers, maintains plate presentation, and helps ensure timely service in a high-end restaurant setting.

Prior hospitality exposure is preferred and ServeSafe certification is required. Regular part-time hours apply with compensation at $18.90 per hour plus gratuities and potential for growth after six months.

• Greets all guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Provides the correct condiments for the food items served.

• Follows up on all service details for the Server.
• Completes all opening and closing side work.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• All other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Salary Range: $18.90 To $18.90 Hourly

The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is a luxury property. This 290 room Hotel has four penthouse suites, over 17,000 square feet of meeting space, expansive exterior space known as the Plaza, the Promenade and the Terrace, and an award-winning food and beverage program. Banquets, Schooners Coastal Kitchen and Bar, Helmsman Lounge, Tidal Coffee, and Room Service provide guests, groups, and local visitors numerous dining options. Vista Blue Spa offers a wide array of services in an outstanding location on the penthouse suite level and hosts the Fitness Center in addition to retail and sundries. The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is the only Forbes 4-Star property in Monterey, which it has earned annually since 2009.

Our Fine Dining Runners assist the Servers in providing excellent and timely service to our guests. They do this while adhering to the Hotel's high quality standards at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel.

Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the Hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facility

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. Prior Hospitality experience is preferred

PAY SCALE

The pay scale for this position is $18.90 per hour, plus gratuities and fees, with the position being eligible for a possible increase after six months.
