Job summary

The Athletic Club of Columbus is seeking an experienced Host to join our team. As a historic private club since 1912, ACC aims to provide a welcoming, upscale atmosphere for members and guests, balancing hospitality with casual elegance.

The Host will greet and seat guests, manage dining room flow and reservations, and coordinate with service staff. The role requires a positive attitude, strong communication, reliability, and the ability to stand and move for long periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in restaurant or hotel industry.
• Rudimentary knowledge of wine, alcohol, and menu items.
• Timeliness, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
• Physical capabilities: standing and walking for long periods as well as, carrying buss tubs up to 15 pounds.
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and seating members and their guests, controlling the flow of traffic into and out of the restaurant and bar area.
• Overseeing daily restaurant reservations, pre-assigning seating when necessary, and communicating with management, service staff and kitchen regarding special needs, and requests.
• Addressing complaints or issues promptly and relaying relevant information or complaints directly to the supervisor.
• Ensuring that the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period and keeping the area clean and neat while meeting.
• Endeavor to know or learn the names of our members.
• Assisting with bussing and cleaning tables.
• Short list of opening and closing side work including, but not limited to, printing menus, restocking crayons, polishing silverware, restocking glassware.

The Host is integral to this mission, ensuring memorable and enjoyable experiences for our members and guests.

Compensation & Work Schedule

• $15/hour- $17 per hour based on experience
• FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
• Shift Schedule Any (M - Sat 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM; 4:30 PM- 9:30 PM) Must have Saturday Availability. The club is closed on Sunday and All Major Holidays
