Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s The Madison Club in La Quinta, CA seeks a Food Runner to deliver menu items, clear tables, and support kitchen staff in a luxury dining environment. You will ensure accurate plating, maintain station cleanliness, and assist guests with questions while upholding service standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma and 3+ months in a fine-dining or high-volume setting, plus knowledge of food safety and readiness to obtain the State Food Safety Certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum experience: three (3) months in fine-dining or high-volume high-end restaurant, resort, or private club.
• Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; eligibility for State Food Safety Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food items to the guest table, ensuring correct dish reaches the proper seat.
• Clear away tableware and monitor water glass levels, refilling as needed.
• Replace any silverware during service.
• Check surrounding areas for items that need clearing.
• Provide brief explanations of items and anticipate guest needs.
• Assist kitchen staff to ensure proper plating and timely delivery, including condiments or sauces.
• Prepare runner station per checklist and restock as needed, keeping area clean and organized.
• Be familiar with menu items to answer guest questions.
• Know restaurant policies, procedures, training, safety, and security.
• Adhere to food safety, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Attend briefings, meetings, and trainings; perform other duties as assigned.
