Job summary

Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah invites applications for a Fine Dining Bartender at Basalt. You will craft classic and signature cocktails, recommend wine pairings, and deliver impeccable service in a luxury dining setting.

The role requires polished presence, strong product knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, upscale environment. This is an onsite, part-time position with a base pay of $10 per hour plus tips and benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a bartender in fine dining or luxury settings.
• Extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beer with ability to articulate flavor profiles.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for alcohol service and possess or obtain required certifications.
• Strong communication, guest service, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in POS systems (Micros, Toast, or similar).
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Craft a wide range of classic and signature cocktails with precision and creativity.
• Provide expert recommendations for wine, spirits, and beverages.
• Engage guests with fine dining etiquette and personalized service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar before, during, and after service.
• Accurately process guest orders through the POS system and manage tabs.
• Follow all alcohol service laws and resort policies regarding ID checks and responsible service.
• Prepare mise en place for cocktails, syrups, garnishes, and bar supplies.
• Maintain knowledge of current menus, promotions, and beverage trends.
• Collaborate with the culinary and sommelier teams to create seamless guest experiences.
• Assist with opening/closing side work and inventory counts.
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism and elevate issues as appropriate.
• Attend orientations and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Fine Dining Bartender is responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails, recommending wine and beverage pairings, and delivering impeccable service that complements Basalt’s elevated dining experience. This role demands a polished presence, technical expertise, strong product knowledge, and the ability to work seamlessly in a fast-paced, luxury restaurant environment.

Job Specifications:

Onsite: Black Desert Resort – Basalt Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Part-TimePay Rate: $10/hr plus tips. This is the base rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

• Prepare mise en place for cocktail ingredients, syrups, garnishes, and bar supplies
• Maintain knowledge of current menus, seasonal offerings, promotions, and beverage trends
• Collaborate with the restaurant’s culinary and sommelier teams to create seamless guest experiences
• Assist with opening and closing side work, including inventory counts and daily bar preparation
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism and elevate issues as appropriate
• Attend orientations and trainings
• Other duties as assigned
