Job summary

Save First Financial Wellness seeks a dynamic Financial Educator and Coach to teach and connect across community, workplace, youth, and partner programs. The role requires engaging teaching, active listening, and a supportive, nonjudgmental approach to help participants build financial capability.

The position supports workshops, coaching, and program delivery in the Vancouver, WA/Portland Metro area, with a hybrid work model and occasional evenings and weekends for classes and events.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, facilitating, training, coaching or working directly with people.
• A degree in finance, education, behavioral science, social services or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with personal finance, financial education, financial coaching or a closely related field.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to explain complex ideas in simple, practical language.
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
• A nonjudgmental, strengths-based approach to working with people.
• The ability to work effectively with people from different cultures, backgrounds, ages, and circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging, practical financial education classes, workshops and presentations for diverse audiences and age groups.
• Deliver Save First curriculum with consistency while adapting presentation and teaching methods to the needs of the audience.
• Teach topics such as budgeting, cash flow, savings, debt, credit and retirement.
• Create a welcoming environment where participants feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
• Adapt teaching approaches for different learning styles, educational backgrounds, cultures and abilities.
• Provide individual and small group financial coaching using the Save First coaching approach.
• Maintain accurate participant records and program documentation.
