Job summary

Phipps Houses and Affiliates seeks a Financial Counselor to support residents with budgeting, debt reduction, and financial literacy through workshops and one-on-one sessions.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field, and bilingual ability (Spanish preferred). Work hours include occasional evenings and weekends, with a salary range of $65k–$70k.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, economics, or a business-related field.
• 1–3 years of financial counseling experience with diverse populations, including low-income communities.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish-speaking) and authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan monthly financial workshops, in-person and virtual.
• Collaborate with financial institutions to leverage resources and facilitate workshops.
• Prepare one-on-one lessons for residents in debt with actionable strategies.
• Conduct outreach to residents with significant rent arrears.
• Manage progress and follow-ups using Salesforce.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents.
