The Billings and Collections Department of Finance is looking for a Financial Technician III to work in our Operations and Collections Department. The main duties include, but are not limited to, the collection of delinquent debt owed to the City of Lynchburg. We are looking for someone who is assertive, goal-oriented, and competitive, who likes a challenge. They should not shy away from confrontation and be able to problem-solve to reach resolutions. A good collector should adhere to the office policies and procedures, as well as be able to interpret Virginia State and Lynchburg City code. The individual must be a multi-tasker who is motivated and can manage their time well while analyzing situations quickly and delivering information using strong communication skills. The perfect candidate should be able to deliver customer service under difficult circumstances and without generating complaints. Successful applicants must have previous collection experience and be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
