Job summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a Financial Support Specialist to maintain, validate, and input data for a variety of accounting transactions. You will handle time and attendance, accounts payable, procurement, SPCC direct charge, travel, accounts receivable, inventory, and other related fiscal services.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: verify invoices, reconcile charges, and data entry.
• Accounts Receivable: process documentation, approvals, and inquiries.
• Administrative Duties: assist with special projects and mail distribution.
• Administrative Support: provide fiscal and administrative support to divisions.
• Financial Data: run queries, compare expenditures, and correct discrepancies.
• Inventory Data Processing: enter inventory transactions in IMS and Cardinal.
• Policies and Procedures: apply state and VDOT policies to financial work.
• SPCC Direct Charge and Procurement: prepare requisitions, PO, and card charges.
• Time and Attendance: enter time, leave, and related HR data.
• Travel: process travel authorizations and reimbursements.
