The financial services specialist performs routine entry-level financial accounting, reporting, and support services activities.
Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

MoDOT will bring candidates onto the team at entry-level, intermediate, or senior level, based on your skills and experience. This opening is for a CAREER-LADDER position, which offers the opportunity for career advancement without participating in a competitive selection process. As you learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, you can be promoted to higher-level positions.

What you'll do:

  • Create financial documents for federally funded projects using Microsoft Excel and financial management systems (FACS, FMIS, SAMII, etc.).
  • Coordinate with federal agencies (Federal Highway Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Rail Administration, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to administer federal funds according to federal requirements.
  • Coordinate with MoDOT Divisions and Districts to deliver federally funded projects.
  • Prepare documents for Partnership programs, including Cost Share, Missouri Transportation Finance Corporation (MTFC) loan program, and Statewide Transportation Assistance Revolving (STAR) loan program, for presentation to committees, boards, and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.
  • Assist MoDOT Divisions and Districts in developing and managing agreements with local public agencies, especially regarding shared project costs.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Planning, Public Administration, or related field, OR four years of experience in transportation, grant management, public or transportation administration, planning, accounting, or financial analysis roles.

Special Working Conditions:

Occasional statewide overnight travel required.
