Job summary

GreenStone Farm Credit Services is seeking a Loan Officer to provide lending and agricultural expertise to customers in the Escanaba area. You will build strong relationships, assess financial positions, and offer innovative lending solutions for farming operations.

You will collaborate with specialists, manage a sales pipeline, and set goals to grow the loan portfolio while upholding GreenStone's risk parameters and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business administration, finance, or related field.
• 1+ years of experience in the agribusiness/farming industry or equivalent experience in agriculture credit or related field.
• Knowledge of loan products and credit operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships by gathering financial information and identifying needs to provide tailored loan solutions.
• Maintain a comprehensive sales database and record customer interactions and transactions.
• Set and pursue individual sales goals for loans and financial services to contribute to GreenStone's success.
• Collaborate with tax, accounting, insurance, or other specialists on joint sales calls.
• Differentiate GreenStone by delivering a broad range of financial services and exceptional customer service.
• Contribute to GreenStone's image in the local community through active involvement and presence.
• Analyze moderately sized mortgage and commercial loan requests with attention to risk parameters.

Day in the life of Loan Officer:

• Building Customer Relationships: As a Loan Officer you will gather financial information from customers and listen attentively to their needs. By identifying both expressed and latent needs, you'll be able to provide tailored solutions or alternatives that meet their specific requirements.
• Maintaining Sales Database: You'll maintain a comprehensive sales database file, ensuring all customer interactions and transactions are accurately recorded. Additionally, you'll establish ongoing prospecting plans and activities to attract new customers while nurturing existing relationships.
• Setting Sales Goals: You'll develop a commitment to individual sales goals for both loans and financial services, striving to exceed targets and contribute to the overall success of GreenStone.
• Collaborating with Specialists: You'll have the opportunity to make joint sales calls with tax, accounting, insurance, or other specialists, showcasing GreenStone's wide range of financial services and exceptional customer service.

• Analyzing Loan Requests: You'll analyze moderately sized mortgage and commercial loan requests, either independently or with a Credit Analyst. Your detailed, accurate, and timely analysis will ensure that loan decisions align with GreenStone's risk parameters and customer needs.

What Experience do you bring?

• Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, business administration, finance, or related field is required
• 1+ years of experience in the agribusiness/farming industry or equivalent experience in agriculture credit or closely related field experience required
