Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a public two-year college serving Central Virginia. The Assistant Director of Financial Services reports to the Director of Financial Services and supports financial reporting for major funds and the Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) with over $30 million in assets.

The role involves extracting data from AIS/PeopleSoft and the Foundation’s systems, producing reports, and maintaining compliance with ARMICS and CAPP standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ directly relevant experience in a financial management role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
• Direct experience with automated accounting systems and general ledger transactions.
• Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data and prepare reports and statements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports for all College funds, including Education & General and Workforce Development.
• Develop financial reports for monitoring funds and ensure cash flow needs are met while supporting portfolio growth.
• Perform monthly reconciliations between Raisers Edge and Financial Edge modules to ensure accuracy of fund designations.
• Provide required information to the Educational Foundation’s Audit firm.
• Develop and implement control systems to ensure policies and procedures are accurate and followed.
