Reporting to the Director of Financial Services, this position performs financial reporting and analysis for major College funds (Education & General, Workforce Development) and supports financial accounting for the Piedmont Virginia Community College Educational Foundation, a 501 © (3) foundation with more than $30 million in assets. The position works within the Business Office and with multiple systems to extract data and provide reports and analysis for monitoring and decision-making. This includes validating data from the Peoplesoft Accounting Financial module of AIS/General ledger, Financial Edge within the Foundation’s accounting system, working with Human Resources and the Cardinal system for payroll data, and with the Student Information System (SIS).
The Assistant Director of Financial Services develops processes and procedures to improve workflows and customer service, while ensuring that processes maintain compliance with the State Comptroller’s directives, Virginia’s Agency Risk Management and Internal Controls Standards (ARMICS) and the Commonwealth Accounting Policy and Procedures (CAPP) manual.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
