Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) in Charlottesville, VA seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Services. The role reports to the Director of Financial Services and focuses on financial reporting and analysis for Education & General and Workforce Development funds, plus support for the PVCC Educational Foundation.

Responsibilities include validating data, maintaining governance with ARMICS and CAPP, and building reports for monitoring and decision-making using AIS, SIS, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ directly relevant experience in a financial management role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
• Direct experience working with automated accounting system process/general ledger transactions.
• Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data and prepare reports and statements.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial reporting and analysis for major College funds and for the PVCC Educational Foundation.
• Develop processes and procedures to improve workflows and ensure compliance with ARMICS and CAPP.
• Prepare year-end schedules for the college’s financial statement submission to the VCCS.
• Create and deliver financial reports and dashboards using AIS, SIS, and Power BI to aid decision-making.
• Maintain and monitor accounting data integrity and ensure proper coding for expenditures.
