Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 1–3 years in outpatient/physician office settings, including financial counseling and insurance verification.
• Experience with authorization and pre-certifications is expected.
• Familiarity with payer guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of payer and regulatory guidelines for medical claims processing.
• Interview patients to obtain and verify demographic and insurance information for financial clearance.
• Obtain pre-certifications/authorizations and enter data into registration and billing systems.
• Verify benefits via electronic or telephone methods per PHC procedures.
• Assess patients' ability to pay and arrange payment plans.
• Communicate insurance guidelines and steps to clinic staff.

As a Financial Professional, you will apply financial expertise to support strategic goals and optimal fiscal health.

Every day you will analyze financial data, interpret complex information, and communicate findings or recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial processes.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to guide informed financial decisions.

• Maintains current knowledge of and adheres to payer and regulatory guidelines for medical insurance claims processing and reimbursement.
• Interviews patients to obtain, clarify and verify all demographic and insurance information and determines status of financial clearance, as needed.
• Identifies and obtains required pre-certifications, authorizations, and/or referrals and enter all information in the appropriate registration and billing systems
• Performs verification of benefits, either electronically or by telephone, according to PHC procedures and guidelines
• Analyzes patients ability to meet financial obligations and sets up appropriate payment plans.
• Identify insurance guidelines and communicate necessary steps to clinic staff, including physician

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate General Studies, or
• High School GED General Studies, and
• 1-3 years experience as a FSA I or equivalent experience working in an outpatient/physician office environment including financial counseling, insurance verification and authorization.
