Job summary

Leeward Renewable Energy is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting (M3) to lead external financial reporting, support internal reporting, and manage audit deliverables. The role requires deep U.S. GAAP knowledge and CPA qualifications.

You will partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and an audit-ready environment, while guiding a team through complex consolidation and entity structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or financial reporting.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements, with experience researching, documenting, and communicating technical accounting conclusions.
• Experience leading audits and coordinating with external auditors.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead LRE’s quarterly and annual external reporting process, including the preparation and review of financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Operations, and other functions to ensure reporting packages are complete, accurate, supported, and aligned with underlying business activity.
• Manage key audit deliverables, coordinate with external auditors, resolve audit questions, and ensure documentation is prepared, reviewed, and retained for efficient audit execution.
• Lead the evaluation of complex accounting matters, including researching applicable guidance, preparing technical accounting memoranda, and documenting conclusions.
• Monitor and implement new accounting standards (e.g., FASB updates) and assess their impact.
• Identify and help implement process improvements that strengthen reporting timelines, controls, and scalability.
• Support the monthly and quarterly close process including consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, equity accounting, and reporting schedules.
• Support ad hoc analyses related to operating results, entity activity, and accounting process improvements.
