Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to lead US GAAP financial reporting, lease accounting, and technical accounting initiatives. This role reports to the Director of Financial Reporting & Acquisition Accounting and partners across finance, operations, and external auditors.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in financial reporting and deep GAAP expertise, with CPA credentials preferred and experience at a U.S.-listed public company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
• CPA or equivalent designation highly desirable.
• At least 6 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
• Experience working with a U.S.-listed public company.
• Strong experience with U.S. GAAP.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing financial operations in a multi-legal entity environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SEC, and other regulations.
• Support internal and external audits for annual processes.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and trends.
• Support monthly internal financial reporting and package publication.
• Coordinate with regulators and external stakeholders on reporting matters.
• Monitor new accounting standards and assess impact on the company.
• Provide technical support on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition and disclosures.
• Lead or assist with special projects on new standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather data and ensure seamless accounting services.
• Oversee lease accounting across the company, including recognition of ROU assets and lease liabilities.
