Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting and CPA are required.
• 8+ years of progressive financial reporting experience in public accounting or mix with industry.
• 4+ years of management experience.
• Strong U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting, consolidations, and audit/SOX experience.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint for Board level presentations.
• Oil and gas upstream experience required; Oracle, SAP, Workiva a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead external U.S. GAAP reporting for the consolidated group.
• Own quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes.
• Guide the transition to SEC-compliant reporting including MD&A.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Prepare technical accounting memos, monitor new pronouncements, support SOX and internal controls.
• Lead and develop a small reporting team.
• Partner with operations, commercial, legal, tax, treasury and FP&A.

Out client, a well funded PE backed energy company with upstream, downstream and marketing operations is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting to lead external U.S. GAAP reporting for the consolidated group. This is a newly created role, reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and is open due to exponential company growth!

You will own the quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes, guide the transition to SEC-compliant reporting including MD&A, and serve as primary liaison with external auditors. You will also prepare technical accounting memos, monitor new pronouncements, support SOX and internal controls, and lead and develop a small reporting team. You will partner with operations, commercial, legal, tax, treasury and FP&A.

What You Bring:

Bachelor’s in Accounting and CPA. 8+ years of progressive financial reporting experience in public accounting (Big 4 energy companies) or combo Big 4 and Industry (public company). 4+ years of management experience. Strong U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting, consolidations, and audit/SOX experience. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint for Board level presentations. Oil and gas upstream experience required; Oracle, SAP Workiva a plus.
