Energy Talent Search is working with an upstream oil & gas company in Houston that is continuing to grow through producing asset acquisitions and operational development across multiple Lower 48 regions.

This is a hands‑on accounting and reporting role inside a lean, entrepreneurial environment where accounting professionals are given broad exposure across financial reporting, technical accounting, operational support, acquisitions, and upstream accounting activities.

The company is looking for someone who enjoys operating in a fast‑moving environment where priorities evolve quickly and where accounting professionals contribute across multiple areas of the business rather than working inside a highly siloed corporate structure.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages and supporting schedules

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum of 3+ years of upstream oil & gas accounting experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of public accounting experience preferred
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge
• Experience with financial statement preparation and supporting disclosures
• Exposure to DD&A, ARO, impairment, and derivative accounting preferred
• Strong month‑end close and account reconciliation experience
• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet proficiency required
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Self‑starter mentality with ability to work independently
