Job Title: Insurance Finance & Accounting Recruitment Consultant at Selby Jennings

We are working with a trusted company providing high-quality life insurance products to millions, known for exceptional customer service and innovative solutions, and recognized as a top US workplace. They are seeking to add a Financial Reporting Manager to their team. The role involves managing 3 direct reports, leading internal and external financial reporting, overseeing financial recordkeeping and tax reporting, and providing financial guidance to management.

This position is onsite 3 days a week in Boston, MA or Detroit, MI.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial reports and records.
• Manage statistical and accounting data for profitability analysis.
• Prepare financial reports for the Operating Committee and Board of Directors.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Own the corporate ledger and develop accounting processes.
• Manage the chart of accounts and ensure proper functioning of automated feeds.
• Partner with business units to develop accounting solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA, MBA, or FMLI preferred).
• Life Insurance experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience.
• 5+ years of experience in financial data analysis, insurance regulation, and financial statement preparation.
• Knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting and auditing for life insurance.
• Proficiency with PC software applications and financial reporting software.
• Ability to leverage technology to improve organizational efficiency.
• Strong communication skills for interactions with internal teams and external auditors.
