Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Accountant (T238876) to assist with the accounting function by producing financial and statistical reports and analyzing financial data for variances. You will gather data, prepare routine financial reports for internal UAB purposes and third party agencies, and communicate with departmental users regarding applicable accounts.

Under minimal supervision, this role performs accounting reporting by producing and distributing financial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Preferred: Prior accounting experience.
• Preferred: Grants accounting.

Responsibilities

• Produce financial and statistical reports and analyze financial data for variances.
• Gather data, prepare and analyze routine financial reports for internal UAB purposes and third party agencies.
• Communicate with departmental users and third party agencies regarding applicable accounts.
• Prepare period deposits, billings and transfer of funds in a timely and accurate manner.
• Under minimal supervision, perform accounting reporting by producing and distributing financial, statistical reports.
• Support the budgeting process by processing and in-putting budget information.
