Job summary

UAB is seeking an Accountant to assist the accounting function by producing financial and statistical reports and analyzing data for variances. The role involves gathering data, preparing routine financial reports for internal UAB purposes and for third‑party agencies, and communicating with departmental users regarding applicable accounts.

Under minimal supervision, the incumbent will perform accounting reporting functions by producing and distributing financial and statistical reports, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Prior accounting experience, grants accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce financial and statistical reports and analyze data for variances.
• Gather data, prepare and analyze routine financial reports for internal UAB purposes and third party agencies.
• Communicate with departmental users and third party agencies regarding applicable accounts.
• Prepare period deposits, billings and transfer of funds in a timely and accurate manner.
• Under minimal supervision, perform accounting reporting functions by producing and distributing financial, statistical reports.
• Support budgeting process by processing and inputting budget information.
