Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an Accountant to support the accounting function by producing financial and statistical reports and analyzing data for variances. You will gather data, prepare routine internal and external reports, and communicate with departmental users and third-party agencies regarding applicable accounts.

Under minimal supervision, you will assist with budgeting by processing and inputting budget information, handling deposits, billings, and transfers in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Preferred: Prior accounting experience, grants accounting.

Responsibilities

• Produce financial and statistical reports and analyze financial data for variances.
• Gather data, prepare and analyze routine financial reports for internal UAB purposes and third party agencies.
• Communicate with departmental users and third party agencies regarding applicable accounts. Prepare period deposits, billings and transfer of funds in a timely and accurate manner.
