Job summary

Venteon Finance is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst in the Detroit area to support the Corporate Finance organization with technical accounting and SEC reporting, ensuring GAAP-compliant records and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 adherence.

The role focuses on preparing financial statements, footnotes, and maintaining internal controls, with responsibilities spanning technical accounting research, new standards implementation, and data analysis from third-party providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 2–4 years of experience in accounting/financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and ability to complete projects start-to-finish.
• Advanced PC proficiency.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical accounting research and assist in the preparation of accounting memoranda.
• Assist with the analysis and implementation of new accounting standards, including the development and implementation of new internal controls.
• Participate in the preparation of the financial statements and footnotes for quarterly and annual filings with the SEC.
• Assist with completion of Sarbanes-Oxley – Section 404 testing.
• Analyze and tie-out reports from third-party service providers (pension/OBEP, goodwill impairment, etc.).
