Job summary

General Motors LLC seeks a Strategic Accounting Partner to lead GAAP-compliant analyses, oversee the general ledger, and support SEC reporting. You will identify accounting risks, strengthen SOX controls, and collaborate with Finance to inform material business decisions.

You will draft technical memos, research new standards, prepare consolidated results, and assist internal and external auditors. Lead a team toward continuous improvement of accounting processes while embracing GM's hybrid

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA license required.
Experience with modernization tools and SAP systems; familiarity with GAAP and technical accounting guidance research.

Responsibilities

Serve as strategic business partner on SEC, accounting, audit/SOX, and financial analyses.
Oversee General Ledger functions ensuring GAAP accuracy and timeliness.
Research and draft technical accounting memos; identify internal controls and SOX compliance.
Support internal and external audits and assist with financial reporting including consolidation and 10-Q/10-K prep.
Lead process improvements and drive modernization of accounting workflows.
