Spectraforce Technologies, Inc. seeks a Sr. Consultant for the Financial Reporting group based in Chicago. You will support annual audits, SEC filings, and fund financial statements with a focus on U.S. GAAP and derivatives, coordinating reporting cycles and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires independent judgment, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Prior asset management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years of experience in financial reporting.
  • Experience in asset management / financial services.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Degree in accounting or CPA preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and financial reporting systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review staff preparation of fund financial statements and notes for annual and semi-annual reports.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of reporting cycles.
  • Manage fund and audit/client cycle deadlines to ensure timely filings.
  • Provide technical guidance on new investment/derivative products and auditor questions.

Job description

Job Title: Financial Reporting Analyst (Accounting Finance Tax Audit)

Location: Chicago, IL 60604

Duration:3 Months Assignment

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days per week) & (Anchor Days: Monday - Wednesday)

Shift/Hours: 40hours/week, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST

Interview Process: 1 Round with the manager and another member of team.

Summary
  • The Financial Reporting group provides internal and external clients with assistance related to the annual audits and/or SEC filings across a diverse set of investment company types.
  • The group is responsible for the preparations and reviews of fund financial statements in a timely manner while also ensuring accuracy and quality of the reports.
  • The group provides assistance to audit firms in the processes and procedures associated with their annual fund audits for both the registered and non‑registered fund base, as well as ensuring the timely and accurate filing of some SEC forms.
  • The group is currently looking for a Sr. Consultant who possesses experience and expertise in matters of U.S. GAAP, SEC filings and has deep working knowledge of derivatives.
Major Duties
  • Review of staff preparation of fund financial statements and schedules of investments as well as coordination and drafting of the notes to the financial statements for annual and semi‑annual shareholder reports for registered and non‑registered funds.
  • Assist with management of the day‑to‑day operations of clients, including the organization of reporting cycles.
  • Assist with management of fund and audit/client cycle deadlines to ensure deliverables are met and completing reviews to ensure accurate and timely filings.
  • Technical resource for staff regarding questions related to new investment/derivative products, financial statement preparation questions and auditor questions.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Detailed knowledge of financial statements, and prior experience in review thereof.
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP), including such topics as ASC 815 & 820.
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines.
  • Ability to make difficult decisions and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage ambiguity and complexity.
  • Strong performer with high standards of integrity & work ethic.
Experience Required
  • 6 - 8+ years of recent experience in:
  • Financial Reporting group in asset management / financial services industry or.
  • Public Accounting in asset management / financial services industry.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Degree in accounting or CPA preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of Global InvestOne, Bloomberg and financial reporting systems a plus.
